EPISODIC PLAYS are fine crafted one-act or full length plays that are made up of several short tales or short complete stories following a theme. CLICK play or book title for link to more detailed information about each.
- Episodic plays can also be helpful to directors:
-Many are structured to allow rehearsals that can spread over several groups or class periods, as each story or segment may be rehearsed independently.
-Casting a skilled smaller ensemble of actors or distributing good roles to a large cast.
-Several have author permission to allow the producer to select how many of the "episodes" or short tales will be presented to accomodate time restrictions or casting needs. Just ask our staff for more details.
-Some of the plays have shorter and less complex story lines in each short tale and may provide younger actors an opportunity for memorizing and performance. Our staff can answer questions about your specific needs. Also see BOOKS below for options for very young actors.
